Privacy policy

This web site's mailing list is managed to bring you relevant and useful information without ever knowing the address of where you live. A positive "Opt-In with Confirmation" policy in operation on this mail list. It is intended to allow communication with you without putting anyone's personal privacy at risk from junk mail etc.

1. You have to register to the mailing list to get on to the "Alert-by-email" service. Just because you send an email me or send in any other type of Web Form (eg maps, feedback, enquiry to join) doesn't get you registered unless you put a tick in the relevant box. Tick boxes start out blank, so you can't get on by accident.  Sorry this is inconvenient for some, but it is the safest way to operate a positive opt-in policy.
2. As from 1 March 2000 I'll confirm back to new registering members of the "Alert-by-email" service informing them that they are being added to the list to make sure thay aren't victim to any malicious person forging their email address. To preserve your privacy the "Alert-by-email" is sent without revealing your address to other people on the list.
3. I will not rent, sell or loan the web site's mailing list containing your email address to anyone else.
4. Like much of the football industry, this web site is funded by commercial advertising, but of course you do have the choice to not click on an advert link.
5. At any time you can have your email address taken off the mailing list by visiting the "Leave page" on this website. The page address is also given in the welcome email and each news alert.
6. I won't send unlawful, harassing, libelous, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene or otherwise objectionable material of any kind or nature.
7. If you think I've accidently or deliberately broken this policy, send a message explaining why so that I can attempt to correct the situation.
8. This policy covers information collected through this web site. It does not cover information gathered by other means e.g. through participating football clubs, advertisers, their web sites, or other manual methods. 
9. The site collects anonymous aggregated information including busy days and times, browser and screen capability, number of hits, impressions, visitors to the site and other similar information. It is not possible to identify individual users from this, but is used to prioritise the areas I spend time on, and for other site management purposes. The aggregate number of visitors is periodically published on this site to help third parties determine the value of advertising on it.. No personally identifiable information is passed ot third parties.
10. This is a cookie-free zone.

In return you agree to not:

1. create a false identity or forged e-mail address or header, or otherwise attempt to mislead others as to the identity of the sender or the origin of the message;
2. attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, computer systems or networks connected to the Service, through password mining or any other means;
3. interfere with another member's use and enjoyment of the Service or another entity's use and enjoyment of similar services
4. send me or other members unlawful, harassing, libelous, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene or otherwise objectionable material of any kind or nature
5. transmit any material that may infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of third parties, including trademark, copyright or right of publicity;
6. use the update service in connection with chain letters, junk e-mail, spamming or any duplicative or unsolicited messages (commercial or otherwise);
7. harvest or otherwise collect information about other members, including e-mail addresses, without their consent;
8. send me or other members any suspect material that contains viruses, trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots, or any other harmful or deleterious programs

If I think you've deliberately broken the policy I reserve the right to remove you from further updates or inform appropriate football bodies or follow suggestions published on any of the top anti-spam sites.
