Member club websites

Many clubs that are members of the SBMSC have their own websites where you can find out about their facilities, whether they are taking on new players and much more. We have been listing the member’s websites that we know of for about 20 years.

Over the last decade many clubs have moved from self-hosted sites to commercial platforms. These can change their terms or pricing, which prompt the club to move. Sometimes this results in a longstanding URL (the address) being abandoned. Recently I removed all broken links from the SBMSC Member Links page. This means if you use our website to find a club, you shouldn’t see or click a link to an abandoned address any more.

In most cases the clubs are still operating, its just they moved website to a different provider at a different address. We don’t have their up to date website address.

If you are a member club please notify us of your address (URL). This way, I can restore your club website on the SBMSC Member Links page.

Silent Support Weekend – 6th Nov 2022

South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference is taking part in a weekend of football that will leave you Speechless. Silent Support Weekend is to encourage all our spectators & coaches to show their support during the match through applause only. This gives our players a chance to find their own voice. Join in on 6th November 2022

This weekend actions speak louder than words. We’re joining in with the first National Silent Support Weekend to promote Respect in Youth Football, and our teams and clubs will play an important part.

We’re encouraging spectators and coaches to show their support during the match through applause only. This will reduce pressure and confusion and give players a better opportunity to find their own voice and develop their game.

So, all you have to do is not talk, you can applaud good play from both teams, and then tell us your thoughts about the experience so we can feed into a national campaign to make improvements for the future. A digital link to a survey will be shared after the weekend for you to fill in to collect this information.

Join us and play your part on Silent Support Weekend 5th and 6th November 2022.

Fixtures to restart

SBMSC is pleased to announce its plan to return to playing mini soccer fixtures.

Under 7 to Under 10 age groups will play all the fixtures that were originally being scheduled to be played from 10th January 2021 and these fixtures will now start on 11th April 2021.

The Under 11 and Under 12 age groups will play all fixtures that were originally due to be played from 10th January 2021. These will start on 11th April 2021 culminating in the finals which are due to be played towards the end of June 2021.

Fixtures suspended

We are sorry to confirm suspension of fixtures and training in order to follow the new national COVID-19 restrictions and lockdown announced on 4th January 2020. With the rising number of cases it is important everyone stays safe.

Fixtures postponed until after 2nd December

In line with the nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus, SBMSC has postponed fixtures until after 2nd December. This is with immediate effect, so fixtures are not to be played tomorrow, 8th November.

The FA and Berks and Bucks FA have also stated club training sessions are to be suspended during this period.

Minute silence before match this Sunday

Simeon played for Chinnor Youth in the South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference so we ask that as a mark of respect all teams hold one minute silence before the start of matches this Sunday. Below is a copy of a letter from our Chairman.

Letter to Josh Powell, his young daughter, their friends, and Chinnor Football Club

On behalf of the South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference I would like to send our deepest condolences on the shocking and tragic loss of Zoe, Phoebe, Simeon, and Amelia. We consider our league to be a family and the loss of one affects us all. I know Simeon will be greatly missed by not only all at Chinnor Football Club, but to all of us who love the game of football and play in our league.

We will be asking all the clubs in our league to observe a moment of silence before all matches this weekend. I would like Josh to know we are all holding your family all in our hearts and thoughts.

Sincerely

Carter Barker

Chairman South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference

FA Guidelines for return of outdoor grassroots football

Full set of FA guides for clubs returning from Covid-19 to play outdoor grassroots football is here.

Some of the key points from these guidelines are :

• Everyone should self-assess for COVID-19 symptoms before every training session or match. If you are symptomatic or living in a household with possible or actual COVID-19 infection you must not participate or attend;

• Clubs and facility providers should ensure that their facility is compliant with current Government legislation and guidance related to COVID-19;

• Competitive training is now permitted, with groups limited to a maximum of 30 people, including coaches;

• Competitive match play is permitted, with social distancing in place before and after the match, and in any breaks in play;

• Players and officials should sanitise hands before and after a game as well as scheduled breaks throughout a game or training session;

• Ball handling should be kept to a minimum with most contact via a boot and the ball disinfected in breaks of play;

• Youth football coaches are encouraged to limit persistent close proximity of participants during match play and training;

• Goal celebrations should be avoided;

• Equipment should not be shared, and goalkeepers should ensure they disinfect their gloves regularly in breaks in training or matches and thoroughly afterwards. Where possible, coaches should only handle equipment in training;

• Where possible, players, coaches and officials should arrive changed and shower at home. Use of changing and shower facilities must follow government advice on the use of indoor facilities;

• Participants should follow best practice for travel including minimising use of public transport and walking or cycling if possible. People from a household or support bubble can travel together in a vehicle

• Clubs should keep a record of attendees at a match or training session, including contact details, to support NHS Test and Trace;

• Clubs should ensure they are affiliated with their County Football Association.

New season starts 13th September

The playing season is due to start on 13th September 2020 and 49 clubs are expected to be fielding teams. As usual, most of these clubs will have multiple teams to cover several age groups.

We are still open for team affiliations for 2020/2021 season. Although we would have expected next season’s teams to have affiliated by now, we are keeping the door open. So if you think you’ll have a team able to play next season please ask your club secretary to contact the SBMSC League secretary in the normal way.

The SBMSC AGM was delayed from its normal slot in June due to Coronavirus, but it went ahead in August.

SBMSC will not be running Fairplay this season and fixtures will be published on FA Full Time. Communication between secretaries will be carried out by email so this website will be mothballed as time progresses.

2nd wave club funding – apply by 19th July

We welcome the Premier League, The FA and the Government through Sport England, making a second wave of funding available through their Football Foundation. Our member clubs should apply before the 19 July deadline. (Yes, that’s three days longer than I tweeted on our twitter feed earlier -sorry).

This time the funding is to enable clubs to satisfy extra hygiene measures that Government guidance requires to exit the Covid-19 lockdown and return to playing football. This includes:

  • The installation of hygiene facilities such as hand sanitiser dispensers, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers and waste bins
  • Modifications such as safety screening, contactless payment systems and signage
  • Facility maintenance work, such as repairing hand basins and hot water provision
  • Professional inspections that may be necessary due to the prolonged period of closure resulting from the pandemic – including inspections of water quality, gas and ventilation.

Apply online directly to FootballFoundation

Existing eligible Pitch Preparation Fund and Enhanced Grass Pitch Maintenance applicants can apply for their £500 grant directly from their current Football Foundation Account.
If you haven’t received Pitch Preparation funding or applied to the Enhanced Grass Pitch Maintenance scheme, you can start a new application.
