Player Age eligibility rules for SBMSC for season starting September 2011

Below are the minimum age requirements for the SBMSC season 2011/ 2012 starting in September 2011. These define more exactly which age group a player can have games in. Click here for Team Manager guidelines about fees and squad sizes.

Under 7

For mixed boys and girls teams. On 31st August 2011 as at midnight the player must have attained the age of 6 but must be under the age of 7. Matches are organised about every three weeks. The first fixture is one week later than other age groups to give team managers time to get the team organised. The FA rules state clearly that players should not be allowed to begin to play until the season of their 7th birthday.

Under 8

6-8 year olds, mixed boys and girls teams with minimum age 6 on 31 August 2011. Fortnightly matches are organised throughout the season.

 

Under 9

7-9 year olds with minimum age 7 on 31 August 2011. This is for mixed boys and girls teams. Matches are organised every fortnight through the season.  To play in the U9 Cup and Plate competitions there is an exception, it is necessary for players participating in the match to be minimum age 8 on 31 August 2011.

 

Under 10

8-10 year olds with minimum age 8 on 31 August 2011. Mixed boys and girls teams allowed. Weekly matches are organised throughout the season. The F.A. rules state that players who are under 10 years old on 1st September can not play 11 a side football in that season.

 

Under 11

Weekly seven a side mixed matches for boys and girls age 9 to 11 years olds were not running season 2010/2011 as insufficient teams applied.
